Going Gaga 2009

Four evil numbers packed in here. The recently defunct SUPPOSITORIES aren’t for the faint of heart. Heavy-grunge witch-punks that wind you way up and then take you waaaaaay down. There are some great noises rendered from these guitars and sweet use of feedback. More squeaky guitar bits then you usually got to see live with this band. The recordings up them from what is usually referred to as their “minimalist sound”. “Napalm Girl” will destroy you. Lyrics to “Misfit” include, “Just another night dying in the gutter, Just another day. I’m puking my brains out!”. The vocal stylings are psychotic and fun at the same time. “Auxiliary MKII” sounds like a mental locomotive careening down the tracks towards oblivion. These guys plow ahead with unadulterated vengeance. Start dancing or get stepped on. Cover features weird, hard to read, insane artwork by Kenneth J. MacLaurin. Fits perfectly. (Morgan Donor)

Going Gaga, 2009

A lumbering punk band out to bludgeon everyone in their path with their plodding punk songs. Felt like wading through thick water getting through their debut LP. Their Myspace boasts they sound like “wicked angular boxy sound” which is dead on. There’s nowhere to go with these songs, no escape, no room for breath! Monotonous vocals set against heavy, plodding hardcore eventually wore me down without ever giving me something to be angry about. From Ottawa’s prolific and eclectic Going Gaga Records. (Janelle Hollyrock)
