This Vancouver threesome describe themselves as “drums and keyboards united in off-kilter harmonies” and I can’t put it any better. Their debut white vinyl 7” (with cover art by Chicago artist Chriis Lith) is dreamy and mesmerizing. Nikki Never’s haunting vocals bring to mind Patti Smith. Her voice is just so beautiful! Going backwards: Side B makes me wanna hole up in a dark warehouse while Nikki sings about love, dreams, and getting paper cuts from being so in love. And the A side is synth ‘80s flashback pop, just the way it ought to be. It’s like I’ve heard these songs before, but twenty years ago in a dream. Perfect. How have I not seen them live yet?
