THE BEAT RATS A Cellar Full Of Rats! CD

THE BEAT RATS
A Cellar Full Of Rats! CD
Kool Kat Music 2009

They call their music Merseypunk and that’s a pretty apt description for this action packed CD of fast and frantic tunes. Toss some real early Beatles (say early 1964), a little bit of surf, a little bit of power pop, add some spices and toss this on a red hot BBQ for a coupla minutes and that’ll give you a pretty good idea how this combo sounds. Sizzling fun for your next bash, as these cats will get the dance floor swinging in no time flat.  Dueling guitars, throbbing bass, pounding drums and screaming vocals all add up to some maximum fun for all. They hail from NYC and my eagle eye spotted former Optic Nerve (late 80’s folk punk combo who released 2 highly regarded LP’s long after their demise) holding down bass duties. Recommended for your next summer party! (Dave O’Halloran)
