You’ve got a former Leather Upper, a former Exploder or 2, a former Tijuana Bible or 2 and even a former Speed King here and The Bon doesn’t really sound like any of those bands! Intentional or not, the 2 songs here really don’t fit into any neat category. The A side, “Stupid Question” is a catchy upbeat rocker that could easily date anytime from 1976 up to the present. Hooky, almost power pop like guitar licks combine with silly question and answer vocals to create what should be a pick hit single on the radio! Maybe in a different universe! Flip the single over and you get “Ancient Times”, a guitar rocker with a slightly heavier sound. Great debut from this Toronto combo! (Dave O’Halloran)
