THE BRIMSTONES
s/t 7”
Go Ape 2010
Very enjoyable 3 song 7” of sixties garage party rock from New Jersey’s The Brimstones, who have gained a following of garageheads by sharing stages with legendary acts such as ? & The Mysterians, Link Wray, The Remains, and many others since their inception in 1998. If I was to relate them to any other contemporary group it would be one of Janelle’s favorite bands, The Woggles. Like The Sopranos, The Brimstones show us Respect for the Garage with a variation of garage party anthem classic “City of People” by The Illusion. It’s always a pleasure to hear that song (The Creeps did a good cover of that) and their inclusion of this shows impeccable taste! (Bob Scott)
