THE GOODNIGHT LOVING
Arcobaleno EP (Picture Disc)
Wild Honey Records 2010

This is the best release yet from Milwaukee, WI band The Goodnight Loving. Five song EP on Wild Honey Records, who have prepared a beautiful silkscreened vinyl picture disc that compliments the bands experimental psychedelic pop sound perfectly. The picture disc came with a CD version, so you don’t have to handle the vinyl if you choose not to. (Bob Scott)

Another wonderful release from Wisconsin’s The Goodnight Loving. This talented band is gaining deserved recognition for its steady supply of great garage/folk music. “Nothing Conquers Us” is nothing short of amazing! “It’s  So Scary” is a great creepy psychedelic song, I think it’s about a freak out on a walk trying to get a grip on a bad trip but everybody looks like sickos in a Crumb comic! Nice cover and label art on this black vinyl pressing, and it comes with an mp3 download coupon. (Bob Scott)

With their name taken from an American cattle trail in the West, this Wisconsin band transcends genre pigeon holing. Part country, part folk, part punk, but all entirely heartbreaking, deceptively simple Midwest rock. The perfect album to throw on the turntable when your dad comes to visit and you want to show him you’re still a fine young lady. This LP will vouch for you as a citizen in good standing! Every track is immediately catchy and melodic but below the surface there’s some psychedelic tones and garage influences. Songs alternate between two lead singers, one with a garage snarl and the other an unaffected country drawl. Honest lyrics set to beautifully crafted rock n roll that’s hard to pin down. Words don’t do this one justice, just buy it! (Janelle Hollyrock)
