Split 7” from these 2 SF based bands that recently made it up to Montreal to play at the Wooly Weekend Garage Fest as part of the Budget Rock Showcase. To commemorate this event, they made a limited edition (of 50) picture sleeves that were only sold at Wooly Weekend and the remaining records come sans picture sleeve. And the music, well, The Teutonics claim to come from Germany and they play wild early ‘60s beat influenced tunes with the vocals sung in broken German/English. The Jinxes are more like The Mummies with keyboards, wild uncontrolled and totally primitive rock’n’roll that’s made for fun. Had the pleasure of seeing the end of The Jinxes (and the Teutonics) set at Wooly Weekend, the keyboard player lifted up his Farfisa, it touched the ceiling of the club, and then he dropped it and a few parts bounced up off the keyboard. Ouch!! Talked to him afterwards and he said the keyboard worked just as good as before the little accident… both of these bands are definitely worth catching live and this record sure makes a great intro.
