TIMECOPZ/FIST CITY Split 7”

TIMECOPZ/FIST CITY
Split 7”
Geographing 2010

Dedicated to everyone’s favourite man about town Johnny Woggles, the TIMECOPZ side of this split on Geographing features two blistering punk tracks that perfectly describe our fucked up town, “Shit City” and “Get Away”. I’ve said it before in my many live reviews of TIMECOPZ, but these three guys play the fastest KBD punk this side of the Rockies. Their tracks have a classic ’77 punk sound that works perfectly with Todd and Kyle’s jerky vocals and Steve’s tireless drumming. Sounds great considering Todd said it was recorded on a 4-track, hooked up to a camcorder, then up to a computer! If you haven’t yet seen this band live, check ‘em out at this year’s Sled Island in Calgary! While there, you can also catch the three fast looming tracks that fill out the flipside, “Fuck”, “Cleaner”, and, my favourite, “Iggy Pup.” Part of the breaking-out Alberta punk scene that includes bands you’ve probably heard of like MYELIN SHEATHS, TOPLESS MONGOS, and MOBY DICKS, Lethbridge’s FIST CITY is twin sister vocalists Kirsten (guitar) and Brittany Griffiths (bass), guitarist Evan van Reekum, and drummer Ryan Grieve (THE NEW DANGER KIDS, ENDANGERED APE, MOBY DICKS). Their vocals are so tight, they scare me! A knockout split! (Janelle Hollyrock)
